Grant Making
The Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP) is pleased to announce the 2010 grantees of the Capacity-Building and Programs for Arts, Culture & Youth grants.
Funds for the grantmaking were made available through the contributions of the Professional Advisory Board of CAAP, other individual donors, and the C.S. Mott Foundation. Grants totaling $53,000 will support 11 Arab American organizations across the country.
ACCESS California Services: Anaheim, CA, $4,500 to support a therapeutic program that will facilitate healing in children traumatized by war or migration.
Al-Bustan: Philadelphia, PA, $5,000 to support "Arab Rhythm and Melody: A Music Instruction and Appreciation Program."
American Arab Heritage Council: Flint, MI, $5,000 to hire a consultant to conduct a needs assessment study.
Arab American Action Network: Chicago, IL, $4,000 to design and produce an annual report
Arab American Association of New York: Brooklyn, NY, $5,000 to support their "Bay Ridge Career and Education Oppportunity Center," which supports and guides teens/young adults by providing academic mentoring and professional support opportunities.
Arab American Family Services: Chicago, IL, $5,000 to hire a consultant for staff development, human resources development, and leadership training.
Arab Cultural and Community Center: San Francisco, CA, $5,000 to improve and expand their individual donor cultivation efforts.
Association of Arab American Engineers and Architects: Chicago, IL, $3,500 to support their national outreach initiatives through their 5th annual conference.
Boston Palestine Film Festival: Boston, MA, $6,000 to support conversion of a volunteer into a paid staff person.
Center for Arabic Culture: Boston, MA, $5,000 to support expansion of their cultural education and arts programming.
Philadelphia Arab American Community Development Corp: Philadelphia, PA, $5,000 for staff development and training.
