Family Foundations

The number of family foundations in the United States continues to grow, with over 35,000 family foundations granting over $16 billion in 2006 alone. Likewise, Arab American family foundations are on the rise, as families look for opportunities to pool their charitable dollars for greater impact and leave a legacy for future generations.

The Center for Arab American Philanthropy works with family foundations to strengthen their grantmaking, assess community needs, and connect them to community organizations.

CAAP is also developing a national database of Arab American family foundations as a way to network foundations with one another for shared learning around grant making and philanthropy.
