Giving Circles
What is a Giving Circle?
Giving Circles, also known as social philanthropy clubs, provide an opportunity for individuals to come together to pool their giving for greater impact. Through Giving Circles, individuals and communities learn about philanthropy and become part of a community of givers. Giving Circles vary in size and structure, allowing individuals and groups the flexibility to choose the right model for them.
How does CAAP support Giving Circles?
CAAP organizes education and outreach opportunities where Giving Circles members can learn about new models of philanthropy and be introducted to credible organizations in their interest areas from experts in the field. With a Giving Circle at CAAP, staff provide all back office support, including disseminating Requests for Proposals, reviewing grant applications, and researching the credibility of organizations. All contributions to CAAP for the purpose of a Giving Circle are fully tax-deductible.
CAAP also offers a unique service to Arab American donors: the opportunity to leverage your giving with other Arab Americans to learn more about what issues are facing our community nationwide.
To learn more about how CAAP can help your new or established Giving Circles, contact the Center for Arab American Philanthropy at (313)842-5130 or caap@centeraap.org.
