Teen Grantmaking Initiative

CAAP's Teen Grantmaking Initiative (TGI) is composed of a group of 20 youth dedicated to bettering their community through grantmaking. TGI was formed in September 2011, and is based on successful models of youth philanthropy groups at community foundations across the state.

The members’ first task was to develop and perform a needs assessment to help prioritize neighborhood concerns and key issues areas. Then, the group developed and released a request for proposals and in February, 2012 began reviewing applications from 24 Metro Detroit youth-serving organizations. TGI was very excited to announce their first round of grant awards at the ACCESS Annual Dinner, on Saturday April 28, 2012! Click here to view the full list of 2012 TGI grant awards!
